Strategic Partnerships &
Strengths
OSIDA maintains a strong and mutually beneficial partnership with the U.S. Air Force through a Joint Use Agreement (JUA). This collaboration provides critical support to Altus and Vance Air Force Bases, contributing to their readiness and effectiveness. The JUA was instrumental in the Department of Defense's decision to select Altus AFB as the KC-46 Tanker Formal Training Unit and First Main Operating Base. This designation brings significant economic benefits to the region, creating jobs and stimulating growth in related industries. We are committed to continuing this successful partnership and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the future.
As one of the nation's first commercial spaceports and the first located inland, OSIDA is at the forefront of the burgeoning commercial space industry. Our unique location offers several advantages, including clear skies, minimal light pollution, and ample airspace. Additionally, our FAA-licensed spaceport boasts advanced infrastructure and facilities specifically designed to support commercial space operations. This has made OSIDA a catalyst for high-tech job creation and economic development in Oklahoma. We are actively forging partnerships with commercial space companies and organizations to further develop this exciting sector.
OSIDA's extensive facilities and resources make it a premier destination for aerospace testing. Major companies like Boeing, Cessna, Kratos, Honda, and Bugatti utilize our facilities for cutting-edge research, development, and flight testing. Boeing has tested its newest commercial airliners, the 777X and 737 MAX10, at OSIDA. Additionally, the Kratos Air Wolf Tactical Drone System has conducted successful unmanned flights here. These testing activities generate significant economic benefits for the region and solidify OSIDA's reputation as a leader in aerospace innovation. We are committed to attracting new testing partners and fostering a collaborative environment for groundbreaking research and development.
