The Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority (OSIDA) is a state agency dedicated to fostering aerospace innovation and economic growth in Oklahoma. We manage the Oklahoma Air & Space Port, a dynamic aerospace complex that encompasses:

To provide world-class infrastructure, resources, and partnerships that enable aerospace companies to thrive in Oklahoma. We envision Oklahoma as a leading hub for aerospace innovation, attracting investment, creating jobs, and contributing to the state’s economic prosperity.

History & Milestones

2006

OSIDA is awarded one of the nation’s first commercial spaceport licenses by the FAA, marking Oklahoma as a pioneer in the commercial space industry.

2014

OSIDA establishes the first space flight corridor in the National Airspace System, enabling safe and efficient spaceflight operations.

2018

The Oklahoma Air & Space Port becomes a preferred site for major aerospace companies for flight testing and research.

2023

OSIDA’s decade-long partnership with the U.S. Air Force through a Joint Use Agreement (JUA) contributes to Altus Air Force Base being selected as the KC-46 Tanker Formal Training Unit and First Main Operating Base.

LEADERSHIP

OSIDA is led by a dedicated Board of Directors with diverse expertise in aerospace, aviation, business, and government:

Brenda Rolls, Psy.D

Chair

Dr. Rolls is an experienced leader with a Ph.D. in Psychology and a successful track record leading Frontier Electronic Systems (FES).

Bailey J. Siegfried

Vice Chair

Mr. Siegfried serves as Vice President at NORDAM and chairs various aerospace and STEM organizations.

Deirdre M. Gurry

Treasurer/Secretary

A retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with over 20 years of aviation experience, Ms. Gurry owns and operates Aviaspire, LLC.

Michael Schulz

Board Member

A former Oklahoma State Senator with a strong background in agriculture.

Richard G. Henry, DDS

Board Member

A dentist and former Altus City Council member with experience in economic development and tourism.

Rob Lyman

Board Member

A retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General with expertise in cyberspace operations, logistics, and special operations.

Board Member

OSIDA currently has a vacant Board of Director position pending appointment and Senate confirmation.

The OSIDA Board meets at 1:30 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of every other month in the Commission Room at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation located at 200 NE 21st Street in Oklahoma City, unless another location is selected beforehand:
